Stephanie Ciccarelli Chieft Marketing Officer at Voices.com

The Trove of Storytellers: An Interview with Voices.com Co-Founder Stephanie Ciccarelli

Sezion recently had the opportunity to interview Stephanie Ciccarelli, Chief Marketing Officer of Voices.com, about her company’s industry and services. Voices.com specializes in supplying companies with voice-over talent which is an important factor in any marketing campaign.  As Sezion works to make a business’s entire content library into videos automatically, Voices.com wants to ease the process of finding top-notch voices.  For example, Sezion can take a company’s existing content, such as their products’ pictures, and turn them into personalized videos, while Voices.com finds the ideal narrator who will match the company’s marketing visuals. Those two solutions together are a powerful combination: just imagine a video of Morgan Freeman narrating a fireworks show (no one is ignoring that).

In our interview, Stephanie Ciccarelli explained the importance that marketing places on brand identity and localization in a globalized industry. To harmonize brand identity and localization, Voices.com uses a meticulous casting system to find the perfect voices for each customer and their proposed campaigns. Below you can read through our interview with Voices.com’s Stephanie Ciccarelli where she discusses the voice-over industry and why Voices.com holds themselves to such a high standard with Sezion’s CEO Josías De La Espada.

Josías De La Espada, Sezion: Tell me about Voices.com

Josías de la Espada, Sezion: With a few voice-over platforms as a service already in the market, what is that one unique thing that Voice has according to you?

Stephanie Ciccarelli, Voices.com: Many organizations needing to complete voice-over and language translation projects are unsure of where to turn, what the rules of engagement are, and may be puzzled by the complexity of fee structures to compensate the traditional service providers. Working with unions, as the case might be, would further complicate the process due to completion of additional paperwork. This scenario has caused confusion and can breed distrust when work is outsourced to specialized firms.

Voices.com’s online marketplace brings together the participants to conduct business simply and efficiently.

The team at Voices.com has managed to find a way for people to connect directly with the source of what they are seeking: voice over artists who create custom voice over recordings. Giving our customers the opportunity to bypass traditional methods such as hiring an advertising agency who would then outsource to multiple contractors to get the job done, Voices.com saves our customers time, money and gives them a unique opportunity and heightened level of involvement, empowering them in the creative process, by putting them in the director’s chair to select the voice they want to brand their company with or serve their organization.

Josías de la Espada, Sezion: How can you help online video makers? Why is localization important?

Stephanie Ciccarelli, Voices.com: As content localization is becoming more and more essential for global brands, there is an increasing need for affordable and reliable multi-language voice over services. It’s no longer an either-or situation. Voices.com is able to deliver your localization projects on time, on budget, and with the superior quality voice recordings.

Localization is important if organizations want to effectively market their offerings to the global marketplace while still being able to maintain brand consistency.

Josías de la Espada, Sezion: What are the key points when choosing a voice?

Stephanie Ciccarelli, Voices.com: When choosing a voice, think about the branding and how that message should sound to the target audience. We strongly encourage spending time to gain an understanding of your target market –the people and culture- you are about the launch your product into. If you are spending time and money crafting a savvy image to your core audience, look for a voice that will be able to relate to a given target audience.

Thank you to Stephanie Ciccarelli and Voices.com  for setting aside time to talk with us. We, at Sezion, appreciate the insight you gave us into the entertainment and voice-over industry. Voices.com’s commitment to tailored solutions for each customer’s needs coupled with their efficient but diligent business model has reinforced the significance of holding one’s company to a high standard of excellence.
